Difficult Access

Conclusive debate of the ‘Vice Versa!’ game, ogranised by the Centre for Public Space Research

The game "Vice Versa" is concluded with a debate on creation and functioning mechanisms of urban space, which should facilitate using the city, but render access more difficult instead.

We will discuss raising urban barriers and reasons for abolishing them, how valid social norms and values are reflected in the process of building urban space and how they are enforced. We will tackle the issue of possible integration of excluded groups and enabling them to make active use of the city through urban strategies and animated or artistic actions. All subject to debate with urbanists, representatives of municipal authorities, the Polish Association of the Blind, culture experts and participants to the game.
