„Set a section through the building - every space you cut will be public“
we would like to approach a functionally/programmatically problematic building (space) by exploring its structure pragmatically, based on the thesis that any program fits anywhere. We would like to question the existing structure by investigating on different modes of use, appropriation and adaption. In this way the accomodation of new or unconventional functions, be it a theatre, a restaurant, offices, a museum or residential units will be a matter of inhabitation rather than specialisation. Suboptimal spaces and stimulating complications will define the starting points to develop an architectural debate. In this phase it is not about defining a new programme
for a building (space) but rather to foster a debate about the existing use and possible forms of use of a building (space). Is there any possibility to open a building, to improve or to complicate its accessibility by conceiving an open building?
