Project: a-maze-ing

a-maze-ing is a participative installation for a collective (re)construction of the Mariannenplatz in form of a Spatial Wiki. We are interested in the very structure of a Wiki, in which content is constantly (trans)formed by many authors, thus by a multitude of experiences and knowledge. The idea of the Spatial Wiki wants to bring this contentbased structure into physical space. It provides the structure into which contents can be implemented and thus aims at linking the concrete space with its artistic examination. The potential of the Spatial Wiki compared to digital Wikis is its accessibility to all senses: beyond the usual media video and audio also olfactory, gustatory and haptic elements can be used.

As the basic structure of the Spatial Wiki we build a construction of racks which heart will be a map of Mariannnplatz. Here users can mark THEIR space and link it to their examination within the Wiki. For this examination different formats can be used like written text, soundrecordings, drawing, collage, photography, but also the deposit of objects like a plant, fresh buns of your favorite bakery, a worn pair of shoes, a movie ticket.

Developing the Wiki will be possible for anyone anytime over the two weeks. Beyond that we will offer different workshops, including Soundwalks, Photo and Drawing Workshops.
