Biografie

Roman Dziadkiewicz (geboren 1972 in Opole, PL) ist seit Ende der 1990er Jahre als Installationskünstler, Performance Künstler, Aktivist und Kurator tätig und realisierte Ausstellungen, Workshops und Kunstaktionen in Polen, Europa und den USA. Er ist Mitbegründer des Laboratoriums Fundacja 36,6, eines kommunikativen Zusammenschlusses polnischer Künstler, Kulturtheoretiker, Soziologen und Aktivisten. Sein Selbstverständnis als Künstler ist von der Frage nach gegenwärtigen ästhetischen, sozialen und medialen Bedingungen von Kunstwerken und Künstlertum bestimmt. Seine künstlerische Position zielt auf die Erforschung der Verflechtungen des Kunstbetriebs innerhalb ökonomischer und politischer Machtstrukturen sowie auf die Dichotomie von Realität und Fiktion im schöpferischen Prozess.

„Within the project I want to put some psycho-geographic questions on my relations to the unit, to the team members, to particular relations between me and particular locations, unit-me-landscape, you-me-unit, unit-visitors, me-locals, unit-locals and so on. There are 3 meanings of the term romance I would like to deal with as models for developing following observations and interventions:
a) An epic, adventure story (the ancient and medieval tradition)
b) A short chamber music form (popular in Russian and Gypsy tradition)
c) The short, temporal love/affection relationship (metaphor for THE KNOT)

Finally, romance relates to the idea, process and choreography of knotting what I want to exanimate and discover from many possible positions, perspectives and scales – in inter-dimensional, inter-personal, interdisciplinary, inter-sensual, inter-semiotic ways. The knotting of daily life, small interventions, poetry, song-writing, music improvisation, body-art, acting, performances, collages, object, photos, making-taking & collecting as a set of strategies. I find the term romance sending to personal, subjective, multi-sensual activities (walking, talking, singing, writing, drawing, cooking, looking, giving, thinking, (breath)taking, performing). Then the still research- and archive-oriented long-term project has more experimental, open, revulsion composition.”
