Massmix is a pseudo-painting collective artistic project. In series of exhibitions, workshops and jam sessions Massmix involves public engagement, pimping the idea of collectivism and prefabrication by Streetart features. None of artistic forms but Graffiti has challenged so effectively the modernist, universal idea of painting as rectangular composition. Streetart combos - spontaneously growing clusters of works of various authors, collective sticking, the multiplied, light, omnipresent, shapeless form of the sticker - they all draw from the graffiti idea. Massmix almost does not exist, teamwork is not an original idea and every artist can stand up and do something together with a fellow artist. Massmix is just a word, content of the social contract between creators; everyone can take part in it. Massmix is an independent entity and an evidence for synergy – it gives back more than it takes and simultaneously grows. Massmix is a vehicle, where process of artistic creation is easy, undisturbed and widely accessible.

Project: MASS VAN DALISM

Massmix draws its elements from a graphic samples bank updated by the group of massmix creators. Graphic samples are a considered common good of which everyone can take advantage of while taking part in massmix actions. Depending on the scale of the project, the elements take the form of stickers cut out from the self-adhesive vinyl or stencil-like modules. Massmix group uses them as a set of blocks to create improvisational compositions. They become sometimes consistent and well-balanced, whereas on other occasions they happen to be clumsy and awkward, always unpredictable and surprising even for their creators.
