Project: Autodestructive Architecture

30. August 1972: After a Berlin concert of the rock band „The Who“, in which Pete Townshend smashed his electric guitar to pieces, the polish architect Jerzy Spzrongratz describes the bands destruction of their instruments during the last song as „...a beautiful and harmonic process, hitherto unequaled in architecture“. 40 years later, Hannes Anbelang looks back on a rich heritage of architectural experiments and shows in a dramatic lecture, that there has always been a significant element of selfdestruction in architecture.
